Tomorrow is Day 30, and I am writing about it today because I am finding I get too tired now and I see that tomorrow will be a full day. A couple weeks ago a friend who knows about this hunger strike for justice — and how poorly I have been treated by Holy Cross — sent these words to me:
“Power always thinks it has a great soul and vast views beyond the comprehension of the weak; and that it is doing God’s service when it is violating all of God’s laws.”
– President John Adams
This is the perspective I have of the president and board of trustees at Holy Cross on the eve of Day 30 — 371 days after the college agreed to settlement talks but never did anything to make it happen, and a year of retaliation from the president.
