These are the words of William Conley, Director of Administrative Services, about why Holy Cross recklessly violated the strict confidentiality promised to me by the Office of the President of the college.
There was no emergency, and they never asked for permission to violate my privacy.
“We didn’t think a new president should have to deal with this.” I couldn’t believe it, how casual that explanation was. THOUSANDS of privacy breaches, because “We didn’t think a new president should have to deal with this.”
So maybe it will take more than ten years on this Vigil for Justice to point out to Holy Cross in a way they can understand that they had to obtain permission first, regardless of whether they had a new president. I will make this my life’s work until the college takes responsibility no matter how long it takes.
