The hubris in the leadership of the College of the Holy Cross is astonishing and very revealing. Over and over and over, I see that the Office of the President regularly violates the college’s own written policies and the laws on privacy. The college policy on peaceful protests — violated; the college policy on retaliation — violated; the college president’s promise of strict confidentiality and Mass. laws on privacy — violated.
Now the College of the Holy Cross violates the United States Constitution’s rights to freedom of speech and assembly.
Because the President of the Board of Trustees P. Kevin Condron does not want to see the Vigil for Justice, or the College of the Holy Cross does not want him to see the Vigil for Justice, the College arranges for two large trucks to park illegally and block the Vigil for Justice before P. Kevin Condron drives by. This was truly stunning.
Because I saw it coming — knew something was going on — I moved two of my signs though the third one was blocked and one of the two I moved really was not visible. Only one was visible where I moved it. But the key thing is I moved too, because my view was blocked by the trucks.
What do I see a minute later? P. Kevin Condron, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the College of the Holy Cross, driving down the hill and past where he would have seen my whole protest if the two trucks did not block it.
So, someone at the College of the Holy Cross thinks P. Kevin Condron and the College of the Holy Cross are above the United States Constitution.
I think P. Kevin Condron should step down if he believes he needs these unlawful favors and this disrespect of our Constitution — or if he is not willing to do anything about what the College did to violate my rights.
(P.S. I edited this and took out the music. I’ll re-post it another day.)
