It is easy to be distracted by people who harass, and by the retaliation of Fr. Boroughs and his staff, and the indifference of the Board of Trustees. But every day I am at Holy Cross, I experience so much kindness and decency, and sometimes it makes me cry.
Today, for example, someone in the Holy Cross community gave me a beautiful bouquet of flowers, saying they’d seen me often and wanted to do something. I cried. Several people stopped to learn more — that is happening much more often. Members of the faculty stop to talk often and to THANK me for doing this vigil for justice. All of this stands in stark contrast to the Board of Trustees of the College of the Holy Cross, which has had no contact at all.
